Relief Work

During my apprenticeship, I practiced carving various reliefs from a solid styrofoam base plate.

Using wire saws for the initial contours and specialized knives and sanding tools for depth and detail, I created studies based on various motifs, including a rhinoceros (after Dürer), an angel, and a lion.
